Verizon in bed with RIAA

Verizon will start policing its network for illegally downloaded songs on behalf of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). They are sending copyright notices to their users accused of illegally downloading music over their network for RIAA. Verizon has traditionally taken a hands off approach when it comes to working with the music industry regarding piracy issues.  However, this new letter campaign is an indication that the ISP may no longer look the other way, and may begin taking broader steps to control the flow of content on their network.
